
New SCARLET article
At the start of the new year, a new SCARLET article was published: entitled “Comparative Analysis of MgB2 Cable Layouts for 1 GW Superconducting Transmission – Insights From the SCARLET Project“, this scientific paper appeared in the journal IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, after having been presented at the Applied Superconductivity Conference last September.
The comprehensive article presents various designs of the MgB2 cable core in SCARLET, showcasing results from electro-thermal simulations and highlighting the benefits and potential challenges. This helps identify the most effective cable configuration that meets the requirements of energy efficiency and compactness, while also considering the constraints associated with the production phase.
